Kevin Murphy is a Managing Director with Sonoma Brands Capital, a private equity firm focused on the growth sectors of the consumer economy. He joined Sonoma in 2019, focusing primarily on the firm’s efforts in the beauty, personal care, and wellness categories, and works closely with the Sonoma portfolio companies Hum Nutrition, Merit, Versed, Ciele Cosmetics, and Manual. Sonoma’s broader portfolio includes investments in Bachan’s, Milk Bar, True Botanicals, and Beekeeper’s Naturals. Prior to joining Sonoma, Mr. Murphy led investments and served as a board director for groundbreaking brands, including Tarte Cosmetics and Supergoop.
 
He is originally from Massachusetts and now lives in San Francisco with his wife, two sons, and white Labradors named Gracie and Goose.
