Helen Nwosu serves as Vice President of Social Impact at Prose, the DTC beauty tech brand known for creating custom, made-to-order hair and skin products to disrupt the CPG industry. Her leadership has been recognized by ESSENCE, which named her one of the top sixteen Black Executives Leading The Beauty Industry in 2023.
In her role, Ms. Nwosu is tasked with overseeing Prose's commitment to sustainability and social responsibility. This includes advancing the company's status as a Certified B Corporation and spearheading strategic climate programs aimed at reducing carbon impact throughout Prose's value chain. She also plays a pivotal role in supporting the brand's broader DEI initiatives and CSR goals.
Before joining Prose, Ms. Nwosu served as Executive Director of Science Couture, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting sustainability within the fashion industry. During her tenure, she implemented innovative take-back and repair programs, contributing to the organization's mission of reducing fashion waste. Ms. Nwosu’s passion for sustainability also led her to spend seven years at Louis Vuitton North America, where she revitalized the brand's sustainability efforts as part of the Green Team, achieving ISO 14001 Certification and increasing environmental awareness across retail operations.
She is deeply committed to making a difference in her community. She has spearheaded initiatives such as the Prose Emerging Entrepreneurs Grant and has been actively involved in industry collaborations through the B Corp Beauty Coalition and #CodeRedforClimate, which aims to galvanize like-minded brands into climate action. Additionally, Ms. Nwosu volunteers yearly at The Campaign Against Hunger and spends her free time training as a beekeeper under the mentorship of renowned photographer and beekeeper, Victor Schrager, in Rensselaerville, New York.
