Speaker Bio

Nina Farran is Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Fashionkind. She is a social entrepreneur who has been a leader in fashion and impact since 2008, when she first introduced humanitarian fashion brand OmniPeace to her fellow undergraduates at the University of Pennsylvania. Ms. Farran started Fashionkind while working as a research analyst at the Glenmede Trust Company, where she initiated, built, and launched the company’s impact investing platform. Fashionkind started as an educational blog about sustainability and style but evolved into a technology platform that merges e-commerce with rich storytelling, featuring designers, artisan communities, and supply chains around the globe that are at the intersection of luxury design and positive impact. Her innovative approach to luxury commerce attracted the attention of actor and activist Sophia Bush, who became Co-founder of the company in 2021. Fashionkind opened its first brick-and-mortar location in December 2022, as part of a partnership with Auberge Resorts. At the store, each product features a QR code that can be scanned to yield its origin story and impact details — an in-person extension of the company's mission to introduce transparency to the luxury commerce experience.

In addition to helming Fashionkind, Ms. Farran was one of ten entrepreneurs selected for Vital Voices' Global Ambassadors Program and  participated in UBS’s Project Entrepreneur, a program to support female-founded companies. She has been featured in various fashion publications; has spoken on prestigious stages, such as MIT Sloan and InStyle’s How to Make it in Fashion; and was named one of Town & Country’s New Modern Swans, the magazine’s list of influential, stylish, and accomplished young women from around the world.
