Julie Wainwright is Chief Executive Officer and Co-founder of Ahara, the only food-first personalized nutrition company that translates clinically validated science into practical and precise nutrition for optimal health. The company was founded in 2022 and is launching this year.
 
Ms. Wainwright has been at the helm of leading tech companies for more than 20 years, notably as Chief Executive Officer of Reel.com in 1997 and Pets.com in 1999. She founded The RealReal in 2011, bringing luxury consignment online with a digital marketplace for authenticated luxury goods. She raised sizable venture capital, built a membership of millions, sold millions of items to date, and then in 2019 took the company public as one of only 20 women in history to found and lead a company to an IPO. . 
 
Ms. Wainwright has received several prestigious industry awards, including as one of Entrepreneur’s 50 Most Daring Entrepreneurs, Fast Company’s Most Creative People, CNBC’s Disruptor 50, and Inc.’s 100 Female Founders List, among others. Recently, Forbes celebrated her on their inaugural 50 Successful Women Over 50 list. Ms. Wainwright’s alma mater Purdue, where she serves as an advisor to the Fashion Tech Lab and Krannert School of Management, recognized her with the Burton D. Morgan Entrepreneurship award. 
 
She actively supports local and national nonprofits that focus on entrepreneurship, education, the arts, sustainability, and animal welfare, including Black Girls CODE, Headlands Center for the Arts, Marin Humane Society, and Cora Shelter for Women. She has funded higher education scholarships supporting diversity and sustainability, including for sustainable fashion at Parsons School of Design, Women in STEM at Purdue University, and minority students at San Francisco Art Institute.
