Steve Gurney leads worldwide strategy and thought leadership for the General Merchandise Retail segment at Amazon Web Services (AWS). In partnership with the AWS retail leadership team, he delivers cloud migration and modernization strategies, partner solutions, and go-to-market capabilities for general merchandise retailers globally.

Mr. Gurney has over 25 years of technology and consumer industry experience. Prior to AWS, he was Global Lead for Financial Services and Media and Entertainment Industries at Verizon. Earlier in his career, he successfully founded several U.S. software startups in Europe, including three unicorns.
