Sara Kozlowski is Vice President of Program Strategies, Education, and Sustainability Initiatives at the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA).

A fashion strategist with expertise in sustainable systems, she applies a nearly 30-year background as a designer and brand founder turned educator to the architecting of bespoke CFDA initiatives and provides leadership to a program strategies team engaging a broad spectrum of eco-system constituencies. Offerings are designed to help grow and guide students, professionals, and SME brands through open-access learning tools, evergreen resources, micro-grants, and scholarships blended with mentorship.

After college, Ms. Kozlowski was recruited by Anna Sui and subsequently launched the independent brand CAKE. For 10 years, she was a full-time educator, mentoring thesis collections and serving in academic leadership roles in New York, San Francisco, and Shanghai. At Parsons, Ms. Kozlowski served as Director of External Projects and Assistant Professor of Fashion. From 2017 to 2019, she was Lead Mentor of the Final Year collections at Polimoda in Florence and has been a guest critic at Parsons, RISD, FIT, SCAD, AAU, and CCA.

She volunteers within the advisory councils of the Conscious Fashion Lifestyle Network Fashion Impact Fund and Detroit's College of Creative Studies Fashion program.

Ms. Kozlowski holds a M.B.A. in design strategy from California College of the Arts and a B.F.A. in fashion design from Parsons.
