Áslaug Magnúsdóttir is Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Katla, a direct-to-consumer, sustainable fashion brand. Ms. Magnusdottir has launched several ventures within the fashion industry, including luxury e-commerce site Moda Operandi; fashion customization platform Tinker Tailor; and retail and fashion investment company TSM Capital, which she co-founded with Marvin Traub. She also served as a senior executive at Gilt Groupe, where she oversaw merchandising for top customers.
Ms. Magnusdottir started her career in fashion as an investment director of a U.K.-based family office specializing in buyouts of large, Northern European retail chains. Prior to that, she served as Engagement Manager at McKinsey & Co. and as a corporate attorney at Deloitte.
A Fulbright Scholar, Ms. Magnusdottir holds an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School (the first Icelandic woman to do so), a LLM from Duke University School of Law, and an undergraduate degree in law from the University of Iceland.
