Shelly Xu focuses on the intersection of design and technology, aesthetics, and efficiency. She has spent more than a decade prototyping sustainable designs while also working at Prada, McKinsey, and Instagram. She is committed to reversing fashion’s negative impact on our environment — a reality she has witnessed first-hand during her travels across Asia as a child.

Ms. Xu is Founder of Shelly Xu Design (SXD), which combines design and technology to turn leftover fabrics into zero waste clothing. These zero waste designs consume less raw material, cost less to produce, and look better. Recently, SXD was featured in Harper’s Bazaar Japan as a company “redefining the fashion ecosystem”. It also became one of the first fashion design-oriented startups to win numerous prizes, including the Grand Prize at the Harvard Business School New Venture Competition.
